HanoiNew coach Gong Oh-kyun selected more than half of the players who have just won the SEA Games gold medal in the list of 25 U23 Vietnamese players to attend the Asian U23 Championship next month.

Pillars such as goalkeeper Van Toan, defender Viet Anh, Thanh Binh, midfielders Ly Cong Hoang Anh, Le Van Do, strikers Nguyen Van Tung, Nham Manh Dung … all have names, according to the list given by the Vietnam Football Federation. Nam (VFF) announced on the afternoon of May 23.

On May 29, Coach Gong and 25 players will fly directly from the UAE to Uzbekistan to attend the Asian U23 tournament.

U23 Vietnam is in Group C, will meet Thailand on June 2, Korea on June 5, before playing Malaysia in the last match on June 8.

The team that Coach Gong took over from his predecessor Park Hang-seo is on a record unbeaten streak with 12 matches at the U23 level in official tournaments. Specifically, this match started from a 1-0 victory over Taiwan in the Asian U23 qualifier on October 27, 2021, to the victory in the 31st SEA Games final against Thailand on the evening of May 22. In which, Vietnam won 11, drew one match, scored 19 goals and did not concede.
