This house was built by the owner on the foundation of the old house, in order to recreate and preserve old memories for parents. Therefore, the owner cum architect decided to reuse the materials of the old house.
Accordingly, the usable bricks of the old brick wall were selected to make the arch of the altar area.
Wooden beams continue to be used for ceilings and decorative wood furniture, and old window frames continue to be used to furnish some parts of the house.
The space of the house is designed based on the parents’ interests and daily habits such as taking care of ornamental plants and raising ornamental fish.
Specialized structures such as beamless floors, 100mm thick columns are also calculated to help increase the space for the house.
The house is also arranged with light and ventilation cells, while raw materials help the house to be closer to nature.
The wooden door system is used a lot to actively catch the sun and wind depending on the time of year.
To create a highlight for the house, the homeowner creates curves with monolithic concrete following the corrugated iron waves.
Thanks to the clever and scientific layout, the indoor space, even though small and narrow, is always full of sunlight.
