Boxer Tran Van Thao met a Filipino opponent in the 52 kg weight category. Despite her best efforts, Thao still lost to her opponent and only won a silver medal. “In my sleep, I always dream about the image of myself winning the gold medal and the national flag being raised at the highest position at the SEA Games. I don’t stop practicing and playing my best. I’m sorry that I only won a silver medal,” Thao wiped away her tears as she shared with reporters.

Thao said that his wife and children are abroad. His son is almost two years old, but he has not yet met. He was the one who actively suggested to his wife not to see his wife and children temporarily to fulfill his dream of winning the SEA Games gold medal.

Boxer Tran Van Thao is from Ho Chi Minh City, and has been with Boxing since he was 12 years old. “Boxing has brought me a lot of good things. I will pursue Boxing until I no longer have the strength,” Thao shared.
