Receiving the call, around 2:50 p.m. on the same day, Vu took a sword and stormed into the restaurant to cut Hung and injured his hand.

Dropping the sword, Vu ran out into the street, but was chased by a group of young men holding beer bottles. When he arrived in front of the cultural institution on Truong Le street, Cam Chau ward, Vu took a gun and fired two bullets, causing Hiep to suffer multiple injuries to his face, neck, back and knees.

After committing the crime, Vu drove a motorbike with Ly Hau Hieu to escape. On May 11 and May 14, Hieu and Vu respectively surrendered to the police.
