According to Truong, in normal weather conditions, the Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro train will operate in automatic driving mode. However, when it rains, the slippery track will cause the system to automatically “stop at the wrong station”, so it will have to switch to manual driving mode.

“The changeover time only takes about a few minutes and the train driver did not broadcast the announcement. We ask for your understanding. Metro Hanoi always accepts all comments to serve passengers safer and better. Moreover, the above incident was not an unexpected maneuver during operation”, Mr. Truong said.

Before that, on the evening of December 7, 2021, the signal axis counter of Cat Linh station suddenly had an incident. After 30 minutes of “closed” troubleshooting, there are many trains unable to get to/from this station.

On the evening of the same day, the General Director of Metro Hanoi said that this incident was just an unexpected rehearsal situation that the Hanoi Department of Transport made during the operation and did not notify passengers in advance.

“This is a normal incident, one of 63 safety situations in exploitation and operation. We have been trained to handle these situations and are closely monitored,” said General Director of Metro Hanoi. /.

Cat Linh – Ha Dong tram operates from 5:30am to 10pm daily, with a frequency of 10 minutes/trip.

Train passengers buy turn-by-turn tickets, daily tickets and monthly tickets. The ticket price for the leg is 8,000-15,000 VND, the opening price is 7,000 VND, plus 600 VND for every 1 km. The daily ticket price is 30,000 VND, the monthly ticket price is 200,000 VND/person and the price applied to priority subjects is 100,000 VND/month. The elderly and children under 6 years old are free of charge for train tickets.

Cat Linh – Ha Dong urban railway is one of eight urban railway lines according to the Transport Development Planning of Hanoi Capital until 2020, 2030 with a vision to 2050. This is a project. The first pilot urban railway was approved by the Ministry of Transport in 2008 and approved for adjustment in 2016.

The project started in October 2011 and basically completed construction and equipment installation in November 2018. On November 6, 2021, the Ministry of Transport and the People’s Committee of Hanoi officially signed the handover, receipt and commercial operation of the first elevated railway line of the capital as well as the whole country.
