Recently, the incident of a woman who unfortunately died tragically due to being hit by a falling concrete block is causing a fierce “wave” in the online community. It is known that the accident happened on May 19 in Jiujiang city, Jiangxi province, northern China.
According to surveillance cameras on the street, at the time of the incident, the two women were walking hand in hand on a street lined with shops.
However, when passing a house built in 2002, a concrete block from the 6th floor suddenly cracked and fell on one of the two people’s head. Police confirmed that the 50-year-old victim, despite being given first aid but still could not survive, died at 11am on May 20.
Jiujiang City Police said they were still investigating the incident and said the concrete block was part of the decoration of the building’s wall. In addition, authorities are also verifying whether the original builder or the building’s property management board is responsible for the accident.
