Balenciaga launches new collection with “smell of money” invitation cards-Fashion Trends

Balenciaga issued invitations to the show that were impressive and full of money.

After Balenciaga’s unique FW22 invitation was printed on the back of a smashed iPhone 6s, creative director Demna Gvasalia now welcomes guests to Balenciaga’s Spring 2023 fashion show with a stack of cash fake.

“BALENCIAGA DOLLARS” resembles a hundred-dollar bill with a mural and vintage accents by Benjamin Franklin. On closer inspection, however, date and time indicators for the show as well as the words “Balenciaga Spring 23 Show” are printed on the bill. A Balenciaga-branded green banknote provides a disclaimer and states that the cash invitation does not contain a serial number and cannot be used in barter and card transactions. The cash invitation hinted at the venue of the performance, which was scheduled to take place at the New York Stock Exchange Building. As an added touch, the dollars are said to have been impregnated with a signature scent unique to artist and researcher Sissel Tolaas.

Balenciaga’s spring 23 collection is introduced in New York City on May 22 at 11:30 a.m. local time.
