Besides the Queen of England, here are the longest-reigning monarchs

From June 2 to June 5, the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth will welcome an unprecedented event: Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Celebration. She ascended the throne on February 6, 1952, shortly after the death of her father, King George VI.

K’inich Janaab’ Pakal

K’inich Janaab’ Pakal was the king of Palenque of the Maya civilization from 615 to 683, the total time on the throne was 68 years, 33 days.

During his reign, this king expanded the territory of the kingdom of Palenque and built many of the symbolic buildings of the Maya civilization that we see later. A prime example is the Palenque Palace with its maze of rooms, courtyards and sculptures.

Johann II

Liechtenstein is one of the smallest countries in Europe, but the Principality has one of the longest-reigning monarchs in the world. The Crown Prince reigned from 1858 to 1929, with a total period of 70 years and 91 days.

Although such a long reign made Johann II an important monarch in Liechtenstein and world history, he was a very closed person himself. With a withdrawn and introverted personality, he was very reluctant to participate in public duties.

The Duke also never married or had children, and was thus succeeded by his younger brother Franz I. However, he was known for being extremely generous and caring for culture and the arts. For his contributions to science, the arts and philanthropy, he is also known as Johann the Good (Johann the Good).

Elizabeth II

As an irreplaceable British cultural icon, it’s hard to imagine the Queen wasn’t born to be the heir to the throne. Bhumibol Adulyadej

Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand, also known as Rama IX, is known as one of the richest monarchs in the world. He is also the only monarch to be born in the United States thanks to a Harvard student father when he was born.

He ascended the throne in 1946 after his brother Ananda Mahidol – Rama VIII – died of assassination. The king stayed on the throne until 2016, with a period of 70 years, 126 days. He is known for his undying passion for music, especially Jazz, and has even formed a band to perform around the country. Many of his works are known and admired by people all over the world.

Louis XIV

Reigning for 72 years, 110 days, Louis XIV of France is the longest reigning king in the history of the country and the whole of humanity. He is said to be the greatest monarch of France, with an exemplary period of absolute monarchy, and is called “King of the Sun”.

Despite living a life of luxury to the point of history, the king was also a devoted ruler who took care of even the smallest matters of government, spending hours each day attending meetings, grinding Review the text and issue the letter.
