Failing to win the 31st SEA Games gold medal, the head coach of the Vietnamese futsal team was “beheaded”

At the 31st SEA Games held at the Ha Nam Provincial Gymnasium, the Vietnamese futsal team was unable to overthrow Thailand to win the gold medal. Coach Pham Minh Giang’s teachers and students were quite regretful when they missed the opportunity to be crowned at home. However, viewed objectively, the level of Vietnamese players is not enough to win the top position.

Through the Southeast Asian tournament and the 31st SEA Games, we see that Thai and Indonesian players have better technical ability than Vietnamese futsal players. We can be good in spirit, good in tactics, but in terms of technique, individual players or in difficult situations, Vietnamese players often lose. That’s because we can’t collide much with strong opponents, with good players.

Mr. Tran Anh Tu – Head of the futsal department of the Vietnam Football Federation said that in the near future, the Vietnamese futsal team will have a new Argentine coach. This coach will go to Vietnam around the beginning of August to prepare for the Asian final round in late September and early October in Kuwait.

However, the first leg of the 2022 National Futsal Championship will take place from June 13 to July 4, 2022 at the Training and Sports Center of Lam Dong province. Due to the contract and procedures with the management unit in Argentina, this coach cannot go to Vietnam soon. Therefore, the new national team coach will not be able to directly monitor and select personnel for his squad. Therefore, the current coaching staff will recommend players for the Argentine coach to select through clips and watch the tournament online.

Most likely, the national futsal team’s force will not have a big change. The core members will still be the players of Thai Son Nam and Sahako clubs. The task of this new coach is to find the right way to play and connect the players at the 2022 Asian Futsal Finals.
