I was protected by my colleagues when I was harassed

Although they are not close colleagues, everyone makes me feel warm when they are ready to speak up for me and encourage me.

Born as a female, but from a young age, I knew I wanted to be a guy. I’ve always liked to keep my hair short and wear men’s clothes. Currently, I have not had sex reassignment surgery, just dressed like a boy.

3 months ago, I moved from my hometown to Long An to work. In the company, there is a male colleague who is quite elderly. Not sure if he knew my gender, but whenever he saw me standing in the hand washing area, he would pass by intentionally reaching out to touch my chest.

That action happened 3 times. Because I didn’t want to offend anyone or cause trouble, I didn’t dare to protest, just told a few close friends.

A few days ago, I went out to drink with some uncles in the company. It seems an uncle heard about my harassment so he told everyone at the drinking table.

“After this, it still does the same, just tell me, I will handle it”.

“I’m going to drink today, brother in the future, if you have anything to say to me, don’t be afraid.”

Everyone was upset when they heard the story, and firmly said they would protect me. There are a few people who have only talked a few sentences before, but not yet familiar enough to defend and support me a lot.

For the first time away from home, going to work, I am lucky to meet so many good people who love me like that. As a member of the LGBT community, I feel really happy.
