Defendant Huynh Thanh Nhan in An Giang killed the man because he thought that the division of commissions for selling the numbers was uneven.
On the afternoon of May 24, the People’s Court of An Giang province sentenced defendant Huynh Thanh Nhan (40 years old, living in Cho Moi district) to life in prison for the crime of “murder”.
According to the indictment, defendant Nhan and Mr. Ho Van Dep (57 years old, living in the same locality) pooled money to sell the theme to enjoy “commission”. While selling the number of issues, defendant Nhan discovered that Mr. Dep kept a higher “commission” money than him.
Around 19:00 on June 28, 2021, Nhan took a knife to find Mr. Dep. After that, the two went to get the coins.
On the way, defendant Nhan and Mr. Dep had an argument. When he reached the deserted road in Long Thuan 1 hamlet, Long Dien A commune (Cho Moi district), Nhan pretended to ask Mr. Dep to stop the car to urinate.
At this time, Nhan used a knife to stab Mr. Dep. The victim ran away, but was chased by Nhan and stabbed several times. After committing the crime, Nhan left the scene. During the investigation, the An Giang Provincial Police Agency arrested Nhan.
At the court, in addition to being sentenced to life in prison by the jury, defendant Nhan also had to compensate the victim’s representative more than 100 million VND.
It is known that Huynh Thanh Nhan had a previous conviction for the crime of “Murder”, finished serving the prison sentence on January 28, 2021, returned to the locality to continue committing the crime.
