IPPlatform (data platform and industrial property service) is a free online tool operated at http://ipplatform.gov.vn since July 2019. The product was developed by a research team of the Institute of Intellectual Property Science, helping businesses manage and look up information about inventions, useful solutions, and transparently in intellectual property management. This is a platform that allows providing industrial property services, connecting individuals, organizations, having inventions and useful solutions with parties wishing to buy.
The Deputy Minister said that implementing the IPPlatform platform is still a new thing and needs a long-term orientation. He said that from market research, geographical indication registration, trademark registration, there will certainly be many issues that need attention. Therefore, in order for this platform to become an intellectual symbol, the Deputy Minister also suggested that businesses and associations research and develop together.
Evaluation of the IPPlatform platform is still a distant concept, but he believes that for Vietnam, a developing country, “there will come a time when intellectual property, R&D will become the core, creating value competition for businesses,” emphasized the Deputy Minister.
