Samsung’s consolidated revenue for the first quarter of 2022 reached 77,780 billion KRW (about 1.4 million billion VND) – a record level for the third consecutive quarter thanks to strong sales of the S22 Series.
The group recorded a profit of 14,120 billion KRW (about 257,548 billion dong), up 51% over the same period. According to detailed financial statements, all divisions grew in revenue and profit. In the mobile phone segment, strong sales of the Galaxy S22 series helped the unit boost revenue despite the lack of supply. Mid-range 5G smartphones and tablet and smartwatch systems also contribute to improving profitability.

In the global market, Samsung continues to lead with a market share of 24%, according to Canalys’ rankings based on smartphone sales, published in April this year. This number increased 2% compared to the first quarter of 2021, coming from the launch of the Galaxy S22 Series and being “hunted” by users, earning a large number of global orders.
In Vietnam, the latest generation of Samsung’s flagships also recorded a record number of orders among the S series ever sold. Two weeks after the launch (February 16), the total number of pre-orders for three Galaxy S22 models nationwide increased 2.5 times compared to the predecessor Galaxy S21 version.
Notably, Galaxy S22 Ultra recorded the highest number of orders among the versions. The most advanced device of the S generation marks the return of the S Pen with a nightography camera – “the eye of the dark” and strong, impressive performance in the flagship segment.

The company’s representative said that this series is well supported and appreciated by users when it comes to bringing new mobile experiences. The S22 Ultra becomes the first generation of Galaxy S with an integrated S Pen, inheriting the legacy of the Note series that opens up more ways to be creative and increase productivity.
