Sentencing a father to kill his son because he thinks his wife does not love him

On May 24, the People’s Court of Dak Lak province opened a first-instance trial and sentenced defendant Bui Van So (43 years old, living in Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak province) to 14 years in prison for murder.

Accordingly, in 2013, Mr. So and Ms. H’Nuiah Niê (42 years old) got married and had 3 children together. During the process of living together, between the husband and wife, there were often conflicts and disagreements about the division of property, so Mr. So was sad and depressed.

On the afternoon of February 22, 2020, when Mr. So was in the living room, he heard his wife yelling at his second daughter (SN 2015) in the kitchen. Thinking that his wife did not love his children and had long-standing conflicts, Mr. So had the intention of killing his children and committing suicide.

At this time, Mr. So went down to the kitchen to get a knife and stab it in the neck area. Seeing this, the wife immediately intervened, snatched the knife from Mr. So’s hand and took her daughter to the emergency room in time with an injury rate of 4%.

After committing the crime, Mr. So stayed at home and used another knife to cut himself in the neck to commit suicide but was discovered and intervened in time by his relatives.
