Talking to VietNamNet, Ms. Tu Thi Ha, Principal of Truong Son Primary School for Ethnic Minority Affairs, admitted that Ms. Dung’s son is studying at the school and receives a monthly part-boarding allowance of 590,000 VND.

“Regarding the semi-boarding regime, the school complies with Resolution 48 of the Provincial People’s Committee, students in remote, mountainous areas, if the distance from home to school is more than 2km, are entitled to the regime. In the case of Ms. Dung’s children, the house is nearly 4km from the school, so there is nothing wrong, as to why there is also a Long Son Primary School near the house, but the family does not allow the child to study there, we do not know. We only accept students who wish to enter the school,” said Ms. Ha.

Regarding this incident, Mr. Vo Thai Hoa, Head of Education Department of Quang Ninh district said that he had heard the feedback and was re-examined.

“Where to study is the right of children, if according to Decree 116, it is correct to calculate the distance to receive the regime”.

It is known that Ms. Dung is the Chairman of the Board of Reviewing the support regime for part-boarding students. If Ms. Dung’s child attends a school in Long Son village, the semi-boarding allowance will not be approved. Studying off-line but far from home, every month, Ms. Dung’s children receive nearly 600,000 VND.
