The new center has an area of ​​12.7 hectares, expected to complete all items in 2026 with 12 bear house, 12 semi-wild areas, administrative area, staff resort, isolation area, veterinary hospital, bear food processing area, education and communication area, waste treatment area and facilities other infrastructure benefits. Total investment capital is about 10.5 million USD (more than 230 billion VND) due to AAF non-refundable aid.

AAF started to rescue bears in Vietnam since 2007. Up to now, 239 bears (both sun bears and sun bears) have been rescued, of which 192 individuals are living in green semi-natural environment. at the Vietnam Bear Rescue Center in the buffer zone of Tam Dao National Park. Here, bears are cared for and restored to health, are free to move their bodies and find food, to gradually restore their natural instincts.

The latest figures from the Forest Protection Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development show that there are about 310 bears kept on private farms across the country. AAF has signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate with the General Department of Forestry, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam towards ending 100% of the remaining bear farms in the country and bringing all bears to rescue facilities. .
