Toyota’s new MPV model achieved an average sales of 800 vehicles per month after five weeks of opening.

In April, Toyota Vietnam handed over 967 units Veloz Cross to Vietnamese customers. This number in March is nearly 700 vehicles, delivered in the last week of the month.

Five weeks after its launch, Toyota has sold nearly 2,200 Veloz Cross and Avanza Premio units.

Both models have a youthful and dynamic appearance. Veloz Cross alone scored with the advantages of superior equipment in the segment such as TSS safety package, electronic handbrake, wireless charging…

In the last 3 years, when users switched to small MPV models, Toyota responded with two mid-range MPV models. The strength of this car is that it can meet the same functions as a large MPV, but saves fuel (thanks to a small engine), easy to move in urban areas and has many new technologies.

In addition, Vietnamese customers tend to own high-rise models in the price range of 500-700 million more and more. However, in this financial framework, users usually only have the choice of small 5-seat high chassis models. Therefore, mid-range MPV models are adding spice to the market.

March 22, Toyota introducing the new MPV duo, Avanza Premio is an upgraded version of the old Avanza. Veloz Cross is a completely new name, sharing the same engine and chassis with Avanza.

Veloz Cross has an exterior design consistent with recent Toyota models, including many straight lines, creating angular pieces, emphasizing personality. The chrome border connecting the two sides of the LED lights and the bonnet creates accents, repeating in the lower fog lamp socket. The rearview mirror is placed closer to the car door, increasing the visibility of the A-pillar area for the driver.

The glass pane in column C is large, promising spacious interior space. The LED taillights are also connected by a strip of lights, helping to increase the aesthetics, emphasizing the width of the rear of the car. Interestingly, the Veloz Cross has a flow effect turn signal light, which is rarely found in popular cars.

In terms of engine equipment, Veloz Cross is equipped with a 1.5 engine, with a capacity of 105 horsepower, 138 Nm of pulling power, a D-CVT (Dual-CVT) continuously variable transmission… suitable for urban mobility needs. The difference in operation of Veloz Cross is that the sound insulation ability is significantly increased compared to the previous product lines. This small-capacity engine also harmonizes the smooth operation – smoothness – fuel economy, a characteristic feature of Toyota models.

The point that makes Veloz Cross different from competitors in the same segment, even the upper segment is safety equipment. Toyota integrated for this urban car the TSS (Toyota Safety Sense) technology package, including a series of support solutions. On Veloz Cross, TSS includes the following technologies: PCS pre-collision warning, LDA lane departure warning, AHB automatic high beams, FDA departure warning, and PMC accelerator control. In addition, Veloz Cross also has some outstanding features such as cross-traffic alert when reversing RCTA, blind spot warning BSM, 6 airbags…

The two models are divided into four versions, with prices ranging from 500 million VND to less than 700 million VND, diverse for users to choose from. Avanza Premio MT costs 548 million VND, AT version costs 588 million VND. Veloz Cross CVT 648 million VND and Top version 688 million VND.

MPV Mid-range is the segment that many users are interested in, when the group of customers running services and tourism can operate again. Currently, in the mid-size MPV group, there are 5 models: Toyota with two new names, Veloz Cross and Avanza Premio, Mitsubishi Xpander with two options standard and Cross, Suzuki also Ertiga and XL7.
