5 people sentenced to death for drug trafficking

On the afternoon of May 24, Hung and Phuong A Xuan, 34 years old; Co Dai Luan, 36 years old; Nguyen Thi Cam Hong, 28 years old, and Le Duc Tai, 52 years old, were sentenced to death by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Court for the crime of Purchase; Illegal possession of narcotics.

Related to the case, Truong Do Hoang Yen, 27 years old, received 8 years in prison for the crime Illegal possession of narcotics.

According to the case file, at the end of 2014, Hung (who lives in Tan Binh district) after being released from prison hooked up with a number of people with previous convictions and criminal records to set up a gang specializing in debt collection. A few years later, Hung switched to taking drugs from a number of clues in District 4 and handing them back to his juniors to make a profit.

In early 2019, Hung split up to open his own line and then went to Cambodia to find “goods”. Through the introduction of some brothers in the community, Hung ordered drugs from a man named Sang (whose identity is unknown) and arranged for delivery at the border area adjacent to Tay Ninh.

From April 6 to 9, 2020, Hung bought drugs from Sang and his wife many times, then hired Xuan and Luan to bring them back to hide, divide and sell to many people. In which, Tai and Hong are the main drug consumers for Hung.

At dawn on April 9, 2020, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department and Tan Binh District, caught Luan driving a motorbike next to a 7-seat car on National Highway 1A. received bags should be surrounded. In another shot, the police caught Tai receiving a bag of nearly 2 kg of drugs from Luan.

Searching Hung’s residence in Hoc Mon and those involved in the line, the police seized a total of 16 kg of synthetic drugs.
