A whole miniature paradise, impressive menu-Tourism

If you are a fan of anime, especially Studio Ghibli, surely the Kodama (Japan) cafe space will make you “fall in love” from the first time you enter the shop. There are too many models of cute characters like coming out of cartoons, even the food here is decorated super fancy and interesting. What are you waiting for without “packing your backpack” and entering this very unique “Ghibli universe”!

This cafe, called Kodama, is located in the Osu neighborhood of Nagoya, Japan. Memorabilia from Ghibli Studio’s hit movies have been incorporated into the design of the bar. Before entering Kodama, visitors may come across many window stickers featuring “soot elves” in My Neighbor Totoro or faceless spirit dolls in Spirited Away ( Spirited Land) and other Ghibli figurines.

Entering the cafe, visitors will be greeted by a distinctive black Jiji cat. Surely you will be overwhelmed by the interior filled with Ghibli items such as the Kodama wood spirit sitting on decorative vines on the ceiling of the cafe or the countless statues of familiar characters from movies like Ponyo, My Neighbor Totoro…

The owner must be a hardcore Ghibli fan when Kodama’s menu is also “rich” with Ghibli. Dishes are decorated in different Ghibli themes such as Calcifer’s bacon and eggs from Howl’s Moving Castle or Mei’s straw hat-shaped rice omelette from My Neighbor Totoro.

Representatives from Studio Ghibli, including the designer and planner, visited and were impressed with the design of this Ghibli cafe. They tweeted about their pleasant experience at the bar, along with photos and a special drink Spirited Away Haku. The representatives said they were impressed by the “force-fed jerky” inspired by the tough, dry meat in Princess Mononoke when Princess San fed it to the weak Ashitaka.
