Participating in the seminar with representatives of the Department of Business Administration, the National Center for Electronic Authentication (Ministry of Information and Communications), the National Population Data Center (Ministry of Public Security) and leaders of FSI businesses, VNPT IT and MoMo, representatives of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, said that in recent years, Vietnam’s e-commerce has grown rapidly with a growth rate of 16-17% per year.

Transactions are carried out through e-commerce floors, social networks and direct sales websites of businesses and traders. Although developing at a breakthrough speed, e-commerce transactions always contain many risks for both buyers and sellers.

In order to ensure the safety of transactions and contract signing for entities in the e-commerce environment, Mr. Dang Hoang Hai said that: E-contracts that are widely deployed will strongly promote digital commerce in particular and general domestic and international commercial activities. The Ministry of Industry and Trade has submitted to the Government for promulgation a legal corridor for e-contract authentication in Decree 52 in 2013 and most recently Decree 85 in 2021 on e-commerce.

Analyzing the meaning of the application of e-contracts, Mr. Dang Hoang Hai analyzed that this will help the subjects participating in the conclusion of the contract to enjoy many benefits.

Costs first, a traditional contract involves paperwork, printing, delivery, or travel. Meanwhile, each contract, signed electronically when used, will save 30,000 – 80,000 VND, multiplied by the number of annual contracts will save a huge amount of money.

Compared with the process of paper contracts that must be signed and submitted to the leader, using an electronic contract will save time. Leaders of the unit may be on a business trip and still approve and sign contracts, helping to improve work efficiency.

In addition, with electronic contracts, third parties such as banks, organizations, and state management agencies can base themselves on the electronic contract with the authentication of the units licensed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, or through the Electronic Contract Development Axis of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to verify the original value of the contract. This saves a lot of verification time and limits fake and fake documents.

The process of storing contracts in electronic form helps businesses manage, look up and search easily while ensuring safety and security.

“With the growing development of e-commerce, traditional commercial transactions using authenticated electronic contracts will help businesses maximize business performance and reach potential customers. In parallel with completing the legal corridor and licensing basis for businesses, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has developed the National Electronic Contract Development Axis system (CeCA.gov.vn).
