According to India Today, the incident happened in the Gajanan Nagar area, Aurangabad city, in the western Indian state of Maharashtra. Initial police investigation indicated the suspect was an alcoholic. In a drunken rage, he murdered his father and stepmother.

After that, the girl climbed onto the terrace and entered the house through the window. As soon as she entered the house, she smelled a strong stench. The girl quickly went to check and was dumbfounded when she found her parents’ bodies lying in a box under the bed.
People nearby immediately alerted the police and staff quickly sealed off the scene and investigated thoroughly. Police removed the two bodies of the man and woman from under the bed, then sent to the hospital for an autopsy to determine the cause and time of death.
On May 24, 2022, the police found and arrested the suspect while he was hiding in a motel in Shirdi city, Maharashtra state. He was escorted to the Pundlik Nagar regional police station, detained for testimony. The police are investigating the case to determine the reason behind the suspect’s heinous crime, before submitting the case to the court for conviction.
