More than 1 million charity masks are “in stock” for 6 months because of the procedure
National Assembly member Truong Thi Ngoc Anh (Kon Tum) – Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front
At the group discussion session this morning (May 25), National Assembly delegate Truong Thi Ngoc Anh (Kon Tum) – Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front mentioned the difficulties in continuing to receive goods to support epidemic prevention. Ms. Anh recalled the clearance of nearly 23,000 cans of charity milk to support children affected by COVID-19 that the Government had to take drastic measures to deal with.
According to Ms. Anh, it was thought that after this incident, the relevant sectors would learn from experience, but by November 2021, the Fatherland Front received two documents: One was from a business in Germany sending 39,000 people to support. 3D pages, two are 1.1 million masks from overseas Vietnamese from Hong Kong (China) sent to support epidemic prevention, but after completing the procedures, the goods still cannot be cleared.
“The shipment was sent from Germany to Noi Bai, from Hong Kong (China) to Tan Son Nhat airport. When we do the procedures, the customs requires receipts and confirmation of sponsorship. If we do enough to submit to customs, we are required to have a confirmation from the Ministry of Finance. Go to the Ministry of Finance, say this is not done according to Decree 80 but implement Decree 93. We did the receiving procedures according to Decree 93, then went to the customs to say that the sponsor goods must have the opinion of the Ministry of Health. about the quarantine exemption for this shipment,” said Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front
“We have also made a document to send to the Ministry of Health. But from April 16 to now, it is still waiting for a response from the Ministry of Health. More than 6 months, a total of more than 1.1 million masks for epidemic prevention are still in stock. Every month, the Fatherland Front must deposit money for storage. This is a very inadequate problem,” added Ms. Anh.
According to Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, at present, the issue of masks is not too urgent when our epidemic prevention work has moved to a new stage. However, at the end of last year, the need for masks was extremely urgent, the aforementioned batch of masks was very meaningful.
Ms. Anh said that goods for epidemic prevention and control must have their own mechanism because this is an urgent need.
