Recognition of the hundred-year-old mausoleum population as a Vietnamese heritage tree

On the afternoon of May 25, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh, chairman of the Southern Central Highlands Forestry One Member Company Limited, said that the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Nature and Environment has just recognized a population of 36 odd candelabra and one old banyan tree in the commune. Quang Truc (Tuy Duc district) is a Vietnamese heritage tree.

Recently, the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Nature and Environment received a request to recognize a population of 56 odd bamboo trees (commonly known as Lang Lang) and 1 banyan tree in Quang Truc commune under the management of one member limited company. Through the review of documents, the Council of Vietnam Heritage Trees concluded that 36 odd cane trees and 1 ancient banyan tree meet the criteria as a Vietnamese Heritage Tree; The remaining 20 odd canes do not meet the criteria for tree age.

According to Mr. Binh, the number of mausoleum and banyan trees recognized in this population of Vietnam Heritage Trees in Quang Truc commune is up to hundreds of years old. In particular, there is an odd cane with the diameter of the spans of 10 elderly people connected together. This tree is estimated to be 600 years old.

In the coming time, Nam Tay Nguyen Forestry One Member Limited Liability Company will coordinate with local authorities, relevant departments and agencies to organize a ceremony to recognize Vietnamese Heritage Trees locally. On the other hand, the unit also focuses on well implementing the protection, conservation and care to promote biological values.
