Specifically, the Silver Medal belonged to Nguyen Tuan Phong (a student of grade 11 at Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, Bac Ninh) and Pham Trung Kien (a 12th grader of Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong). Le Thuy Mai Anh (a student of grade 11 at Ha Long High School for the Gifted, Quang Ninh) won a bronze medal.
In 2022, the Vietnamese team has 5 students participating in the Olympic competition Physics Europe. Here are 5 students who received the Association Physics Vietnam selected from excellent students who won prizes in the National Competition for Excellent Students in the academic year 2021 – 2022. Leading the team were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Cao Khang (Hanoi National University of Education) and Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan (Hanoi University of Technology).
This year’s European Physics Olympiad 2022 was held in Ljubljana, Slovenia with the participation of 182 contestants from 37 countries. The Vietnamese team has 5 contestants. This is the first time after 2 years affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, Vietnamese students are allowed to “go abroad” to participate in an international Olympic competition.
It is known that in this year’s European Physics Olympiad 2022, each country sends 5 students to participate in 2 parts: Theory (5 hours) and Practical (5 hours). In addition to exams, students can also participate in activities to exchange Physics knowledge with friends around the world.
This is the sixth time that the European Physics Olympiad has been held and the fourth year that Vietnam has participated. In the previous 4 times, the Vietnamese delegation always won a medal. Last year, at the European Physics Olympiad 2021 held online, the Vietnamese team won 1 Gold and 1 Bronze medal.
