Once upon a time 33 named The Adventures of Captain Sinbad – Great mermaid war. One day, Sinbad (Dinh Toan) and his teammates received an invitation to come to Tien Ca Bay, to attend a ceremony to transfer powerful jade to Princess Me Ly (My Duyen). In the middle of the ceremony, Black Mermaid Mela (Thanh Loc) and accomplices appeared, reclaiming the water jade she thought was hers. Thanks to the magic of the witch Algae, Me La captures the White Mermaid family, Sinbad’s group goes on an adventure, saving the whole family.
The crew spent two years preparing for the comeback. In May 2021, the play was about to perform a review when the epidemic broke out and had to be postponed. In March, the director Vu Minh – the director of the work – died suddenly, then the scene was only about 30% complete. The crew and directors Dinh Toan and Quang Thao had to rewrite the script and stage it from scratch.

New work oriented romantic style, message about environmental protection. The characters of Captain Sinbad, Black Mermaid, White Mermaid, Poison Algae witch… lead young audiences on an adventure on the ocean floor. The crew chooses stories that are close to children, such as keeping the beaches, coral gardens clean and beautiful, caring for the health of those around them… In addition to the script and music, Idecaf continues to hold its own strength in sewing costumes, with hundreds of sets crafted by the Smile group of puppeteers.

Once upon a time is a children’s musical program produced by the Idecaf theater stage from 2000 to present. The series has become a popular children’s brand for more than 20 years.
