The gunman in Texas sent a message to a 15-year-old girl he met online announcing his intention to shoot people

Gunman Salvador Ramos, 18, opened fire at an elementary school in the city of Uvalde, state TexasUSA, killing 19 children and 2 teachers.

Police shot and killed Ramos at the scene.

According to Governor Abbott, the gunman sent three Facebook messages before the attack: one about 30 minutes before the shooting, saying Ramos was going to shoot his grandmother; a news report that he had shot his grandmother; and the third news, about 15 minutes before the shooting, said he might do it at an elementary school.

According to CBS News, these messages are believed to have been sent by Ramos to a 15-year-old girl via Facebook.

Meanwhile, CNN reported that the 15-year-old girl had been texting with Ramos in the weeks before the incident.

According to text messages and interviews with this girl, CNN noted Ramos complained about his grandmother on the day of the shooting.

“It’s annoying,” he texted.

Six minutes later, he continued: “I just shot my grandmother in the head.”

Seconds later, he texted: “I’m going to shoot at an elementary school right now.”

The last message was sent at 11:21 am on May 24 local time, ie 23:21 on the same day in Vietnam time.

Answering CNN, the 15-year-old girl said she lives in the city of Frankfurt, Germany. She started texting with Ramos on May 9 through the FaceTime chat application.

Ramos often sends her videos of himself and talks about going to Europe to visit her.

According to CBS News, Ramos shot his grandmother in the face and fled. His grandmother is said to have been able to contact the police afterwards.

Ramos’ grandmother was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

According to Abbott, Ramos took her car and drove away, but was then hit by the car a block away from the elementary school. Y got out of the car, carrying a backpack and a rifle.

The Texas governor said a district police officer encountered the gunman as he was walking to the elementary school, but Ramos snuck into the school from the back door, down two short corridors and into a classroom.
