Ukrainian intelligence revealed the amount of high-precision weapons Russia used in the Ukrainian battlefield
Deputy Director of the Intelligence Service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Vadym Skibitskyi said that: “According to our data, if we are talking about high-precision weapons, about 60% of Russia’s stockpile has been used. In the field combination of several types, even more than – 70%. There are relevant regulatory requirements for the threshold to be maintained in the military and the number of Iskanders (portable short-range ballistic missile systems) is close to has reached this threshold”.
The Russian military has changed tactics when using such weapons. In the previous case, 2 or 4 rockets could have been fired on one object, now the object is clearly selected and the target is hit with 8 to 12 missiles of various forms. The Russians are using]cruise and ballistic missiles, surface-to-surface, naval and air-to-air missiles, ready to hit this target. We see these changes and we understand that Russia’s resources of high-precision weapons and high-precision ammunition are at a limit,” added Vadym Skibitskyi.
Skibitskyi added that during the first two months of the war, Russia conducted random attacks with high-precision missiles.
He believes that Russia currently does not have the capacity to rapidly replenish its used high-precision arsenal. Due to economic sanctions of Western countries, Russian industry cannot obtain the necessary quantity of imported components to equip high-precision missiles.
Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar said on May 9 that Russia still has enough spare parts reserves to equip missiles and the capacity for its large-scale production. At the end of April, Maliar said that Russia had launched more than 1,300 missiles in Ukraine.
