On May 24 (local time), American public opinion was shocked by the bloody mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in the town of Uvalde, Texas (USA). The shooting took the lives of 21 people, including 19 elementary school students.

Related to the incident, Texas police identified 18-year-old Salvador Ramos as a suspect in the deadly shooting. It is known that Ramos armed himself with a handgun and a rifle, entered Robb Primary School and started shooting at around 11:30 a.m. on May 24.
Two parents, who claim to be friends with Ramos’ family, said Ramos was a very serious person, short-tempered and often quarreled with his mother. However, both Ramos’ father and mother said they were shocked to learn that their son could do such violent things.

The town of Uvalde is home to about 16,000 people and is the seat of government for Uvalde County. The town is about 120 kilometers from the border with Mexico. Robb Elementary School is located in a residential area of mostly cottages.
The Uvalde tragedy is the deadliest school shooting in Texas history and one of the deadliest mass shootings in the US over the past five years.
In 2018, a gunman shot dead 10 people at Santa Fe High School in the Houston area. A year earlier, in 2017, another gunman at a Texas church killed more than 20 attendees at an event in the small town of Sutherland Springs. In 2019, another shooting at a Walmart in El Paso claimed the lives of 23 people, this was a racist attack.
