Before some comments about Vietnam’s participation in the IPEF announcement event on May 23, during the regular press conference on the afternoon of May 26, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Le Thi Thu Hang emphasized that this is just a matter of fact. event to kick-start discussions among countries about the American idea.

According to Ms. Thu Hang, during the discussion, Vietnam will join ASEAN countries and relevant partners to exchange and clarify the contents of IPEF, focusing on four pillars: trade, supply chain, and energy. Cleanliness and infrastructure, taxation and anti-corruption.

When asked if Vietnam plans to become a member of the IPEF, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman affirmed that the participation of each country including Vietnam will depend on the outcome of the discussion.
