Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the need to adjust the growth model and economic linkage towards more sustainable, more self-reliant, making the most of internal resources, combined with optimal chemical external force; uphold multilateralism and strengthen international solidarity on the basis of sincerity, trust and responsibility.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam is steadfast in its policy and is promoting the building of an independent and self-reliant economy associated with proactive and active international integration. Vietnam also participates in many international economic integration initiatives, actively contributing responsibly to joint efforts to accelerate economic recovery and sustainable development in the region and around the world.

The Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) aims to deepen trade relations between the US and other signatories such as Australia, Brunei, India, Indonesia, and Japan. , Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

The new initiative aims to enhance US leadership in the region five years after former President Trump withdrew the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), an Obama-era achievement aimed at promoting American involvement in Asia.
