The IPEF initiative was launched about seven months after it was announced by Mr. Biden at the East Asia Summit (EAS) held online in October 2021. This is considered one of the pillars of the Indo-Pacific strategy of the Biden administration.
During the discussion, Vietnam will join ASEAN countries and relevant partners to exchange and clarify the contents of IPEF, focusing on four pillars: trade; supply chain; clean energy, decarbonization and infrastructure; taxation and anti-corruption in order to bring about a positive and effective economic agenda that is feasible in the region and for each country, towards a cooperation framework that brings real benefits to the people for peace and stability. cooperation for development and prosperity in the region and around the world.
