American bride fishing “terrible” on her wedding day
American bride Eliot Waggoner Granville catch “terrible fish” weighed more than 20 kg on his wedding day.
Follow Newsweek, Eliot Waggoner Granville, 34 years old, married at a church in Corpus Christi, Texas, USA on May 22. The newlyweds then decide go fishing on the Red Dot jetty near the beach.
After about 45 minutes, Eliot felt the fish had taken the bait. Since he didn’t use large bait, Eliot didn’t expect the loot to be that big.
“It took me 10-15 minutes to pull the fish near the wharf,” Eliot said. She used a racket to bring the fish ashore. It is a black male fish, weighing about 18-23 kg.
This bride, still wearing her wedding dress and veil, took a few pictures with the spoils and posted it on her personal Facebook page and released it back into the sea. She shared that she is an avid fisherman and the fish caught on her wedding day “seemed to be the biggest of her life”. She also hurt her arm from lifting the fish to take a photo.
Eliot shared fishing helped her feel close to her father – who passed away last year. “The others sat there for a long time and caught nothing. So I feel like he’s still watching and just sent me a wedding present.”
According to the Texas Wildlife Service, the black anemone is native to Texas waters, where the water is clear and sandy. The largest black anchovy on record weighed about 66 kg.
