Analyst Ming-chi Kuo has just made a prediction that AirPods Pro 2 will be mass-produced in Vietnam and still retain the Lightning port.

In his latest series of tweets, Mr. Kuo drew this conclusion after giving information related to Apple’s shift of production activities out of China and to Vietnam. Mr. Kuo believes the move is possible for AirPods Pro 2 because of the relatively unsophisticated supply chain for the device, plus Vietnam’s better infrastructure and workforce.

It is currently unclear which supply chains Kuo’s prediction comes from, but Mr. Kuo is said to have a lot of reliable supply chain sources. Even so, he also added that while the AirPods Pro 2 mass production was done in Vietnam, the device was originally still made in China. The reason is that it is not easy to install a complete production site outside of China.

Currently, the charging case for AirPods Pro has a Lightning connector, and the same goes for AirPods Pro 2.
