The overall shape is a detail that can confirm that this is VinFast VF 9 with its massive size and characteristic C column. The test car uses black wheels, not the original one. Meanwhile, the rear wheel cavity leaves a huge gap.
Some people will mistakenly believe that VinFast adjusts the design of the VF 9 to better suit the European market, but the Carscoops don’t think so. This model is simply used to test the chassis, not the commercial version sold on the market.
VinFast tested the VF 9 just a few weeks after announcing the details of the VF 8 and VF 9 prices in France, Germany and the Netherlands. Both models can be ordered with a battery option of 82-87.7 kWh for the VF 8 and 92-123 kWh for the VF 9.
VF 8 and VF 9 are the first two VinFast electric car models sold in the international market. In particular, the VF 8 belongs to the D-segment SUV segment, lower than the VF 9 which is an E-sized SUV. If compared to the segment, the VF 8 can be compared to the Mercedes-Benz GLC and the VF 9 compared to the GLE.
Both SUVs have modern equipment such as “full” LED lights, a 15.4-inch screen inside the car, a panoramic sunroof, and smart technology features in the ADAS and Smart Services packages. The electric motor has a capacity of 402 horsepower, 640 Nm of torque and four-wheel drive. Two versions of VF 8 give a range of about 460 km and 510 km after a single charge. The battery of the two versions of VF 9 gives a distance of about 485 km and 680 km after a single charge.
