Nancy Crampton Brophy – 71 years old, a romantic novelist – was found guilty of second degree murder in a court in Portland (Oregon state) on May 25. Nancy’s victim is her husband – Daniel Brophy (63 years old).
Prosecutors said Nancy was in financial difficulty before shooting Daniel twice through the heart in June 2018 at his place of work. Nancy was arrested in September 2018 and has been detained ever since.
Nancy is the author of a series of novels titled “The Wrong Thing Has Never Been So Right”, which includes the books “The Wrong Husband” and “The Wrong Lover”.
Nancy’s “How to Assassinate Her Husband” deals with different methods of murder, with their pros and cons. In addition, Nancy also tells the story of a woman who kills her partner with a gun after buying each gun part for a long time.
Prosecutors accused Nancy of committing a similar crime in real life, buying gun parts over a long period of time before building a complete gun and shooting her husband dead. Nancy also denied that the insurance payout of hundreds of thousands of dollars she received after Daniel’s death was the murder motive.
