Notably, coach Gong Oh-kyun also personally appointed a captain like Madam Pang, not through a vote from the whole team.

With the existing force, U23 Thailand is very confident towards the goal of passing the group stage of the 2022 AFC U23 Championship. “War Elephants” fell into a difficult group with the participation of defending champion U23 Korea and 2 opponents. Unpleasant players in the region are U23 Vietnam and U23 Malaysia.

In addition to having a new captain, Thailand U23 will also have a change on the steering bench. Coach Polking, after being appointed as interim head coach at SEA Games 31, will return that position to Worrawoot Srimaka. The former captain of the Ho Chi Minh City Club will return to the task of leading the Thai national team.
