Suggestions for popular 7-seater cars to save money on gas

Among the popular 7-seater models being sold in Vietnam, most are quite economical when they have an average fuel consumption of less than 7 liters per 100 km. With the price of RON 95-III gasoline reaching 30,650 VND/liter, these models cost about 190,000-200,000 VND per 100 km.

1. Suzuki Ertiga (190,000-196,000 VND/100 km)

The current generation Suzuki Ertiga will be launched in the Vietnamese market from 2020 to compete with Mitsubishi Xpander. This model is currently priced at 499.9-568.9 million VND.

The car is equipped with a 1.5L gasoline engine, producing 103 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 138 Nm at 4,400 rpm, combined with a 4-speed automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual transmission. grant. This is the most fuel-efficient popular MPV model currently, with an average consumption of 6.2-6.4 liters per 100 km, equivalent to 190,030-196,160 VND/100 km.

In urban traffic conditions, Suzuki Ertiga has an average fuel consumption of 7.4-8.2 liters per 100 km, equivalent to VND 226,810-251,330 for a distance of 100 km. And when traveling on the highway, this model costs about 162,500-165,500 VND / 100 km (5.3-5.4 liters / 100 km).

Although it is the most fuel-efficient 7-seater model, it is not enough for Suzuki Ertiga to have a solid position in the market. The design is not too eye-catching compared to competitors in the same segment, making the model not leave an impression in the hearts of users. In April, only 9 Ertiga units were sold, among the 10 lowest-selling models in the market.

2. Toyota Avanza Premio (193,000 – 205,000 VND/100 km)

Toyota Avanza Premio was launched in Vietnam market from March 2022 with Toyota Veloz Cross. This model is priced at 548 million VND for the MT version and 588 million VND for the CVT version.

Besides the easily accessible price, the average fuel consumption of Toyota Avanza Premio is also relatively economical, at 6.3-6.7 liters per 100 km. With the current gasoline price, this MPV model costs about 193,095-205,355 VND for a distance of 100 km.

If traveling in urban areas, Toyota Avanza Premio has an average consumption of 7.7-8.9 liters per 100 km, equivalent to VND 236,005-272,785 per 100 km. The fuel consumption of Avanza Premio when traveling on the highway is 5.4-5.5 liters / 100 km, equivalent to 165,510-168,575 VND / 100 km.

Toyota Avanza Premio 2022 uses a 1.5L engine with a capacity of 105 horsepower and 140 Nm of torque, CVT gearbox or 5-speed manual transmission, front-wheel drive system. In particular, the CVT gearbox is a big improvement to help the car save more fuel.

3. Toyota Veloz Cross (193,000 VND / 100 km)

Launched at the same time as Avanza Premio, Toyota Veloz Cross is also a “rookie” in the popular MPV group. This model costs from 648 million VND for the standard version and 688 million VND for the Top version.

Fuel consumption on mixed roads of Toyota Veloz Cross is 6.3 liters / 100 km, equivalent to 193,095 VND / 100 km. In an urban environment, this model costs about 236,000 VND for 100 km (7.7 liters / 100 km) and about 165,500 VND / 100 km when traveling on the highway (5.4 liters / 100 km).

Toyota Veloz Cross is equipped with a 1.5L engine, meeting Euro 5 emission standards, with a maximum capacity of 105 horsepower and 140 Nm of torque, with a D-CVT transmission.

4. Suzuki XL7 (202,000 VND / 100 km)

Compared to the Suzuki Ertiga, the fuel consumption of the XL7 is higher despite sharing the same engine, at 6.6 liters per 100 km of mixed roads, equivalent to a petrol amount of VND 202,290 for a distance of 100 km.

The urban fuel consumption of Suzuki XL7 is 7.9 liters / 100 km, equivalent to 242,135 VND / 100 km and costs about 180,835 VND for 100 km on the highway (5.9 liters / 100 km).

Suzuki XL7 is equipped with 1.5L engine, capacity of 103 horsepower and 103 Nm of torque, 4-speed automatic transmission.

Not possessing an impressive appearance like the Xpander, the Suzuki XL7 takes slow steps on the road to conquering the market thanks to its spacious space and accessible price (VND 589.9-599.9 million). In April, this model achieved sales of 541 units and was only behind Xpander in the popular MPV group.

5. Mitsubishi Xpander (211,500 VND / 100 km)

The position of the best-selling popular MPV is still held by Mitsubishi Xpander. Modern design, spacious interior are the factors that help this model achieve success. Meanwhile, fuel economy is not the strong point of Xpander.

In fact, this is the most popular “gasoline drinker” MPV with an average fuel consumption of 6.9 liters per 100 km, equivalent to VND 211,485 per 100 km. In an urban environment, this model costs about 260,500-270,000 VND for 100 km and about 180,835 VND when going 100 km on the highway.

The current generation of Xpander is equipped with a 1.5L engine, with a capacity of 103 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque, combined with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.

The new generation of Xpander has also appeared in Vietnam, revealing the approaching launch date. In the upgraded version, Xpander will be equipped with a 1.5L MIVEC DOHC engine, 16 valves, producing a maximum capacity of 105 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, torque of 141 Nm at 4,000 rpm, combined with CVT transmission, replacing the previous 4-speed automatic. Particularly, the MT versions still use a 5-speed manual transmission. This change is promised to help Xpander become more fuel-efficient.
