Domestic aviation market recovers

On May 26, Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam Dinh Viet Thang said that the passenger transport market through airports in May 2022 increased sharply compared to the same period last year, but only slightly increased compared to the previous month. .

According to Mr. Thang, the current transit flights are also lower than last year. The domestic market has now recovered to the same level as before the epidemic, and is expected to grow more than in 2019 (before the epidemic) when entering the peak summer of June.

However, the international aviation market has not yet recovered as desired by the aviation industry as well as airlines.

Mr. Thang said: “Currently, there are still 7 countries that have not reopened to connect international flights. It is expected that in June 2022, flights to India will be reopened.”

“The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam is coordinating with agencies and units to launch the market and attract passengers to take flights to this market,” Thang said.

Regarding the development of aviation infrastructure, Mr. Thang informed that the Civil Aviation Administration is studying a socialization project at Chu Lai Airport as well as other airports, the Law on Public Investment, the Law on Civil Aviation. Accordingly, the Law must be amended in order to realize the socialization of airports.

It is known that the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam is drafting the work of elaborating, evaluating, commenting and explaining legal documents (QPPL) in order to improve the responsibilities of the staff of civil servants in the field of work. building and perfecting the legislation that has been institutionalized by the Regulations of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam focuses on leading the development of a legal system, mechanism and policy to meet the implementation of the obligations of ICAO member states.

The urging and monitoring of progress and quality of legal documents development has been carried out regularly at weekly briefings. Along with that, promote the management of piloting 4-wheel vehicles with tourist engines; requires the use of an image data processing system to enhance monitoring and handling of violations in accordance with the law.
