“The experiences at the 31st SEA Games were amazing and unforgettable”

The most special reporter at the 31st SEA Games

Among the foreign reporters coming to Vietnam to work, Evan Andraws is one of the faces that attracts the most attention. The reason is because he is a born disabled person with only one hand.

However, Evan Andraws still proved to be extremely proficient in his work, not inferior to other photojournalists. This makes many people feel admired and touched. According to Evan Andraws’ share, he has been used to working with one hand for a long time:

“I am a photojournalist for the Indonesian Olympic Committee. I also work for Merah Putih Media, an arm of the first media channel for the disabled in Indonesia called Kami Bijak. Coming to the 31st SEA Games, I have a responsibility. Recording memorable moments of athletes.

I find that having only one hand doesn’t affect me much. I’ve worked with one hand quite well before.

In addition, I was a bit overwhelmed when moving to the competition venues. Some locations are quite far apart, so I need to plan in detail for the move.

Your culture is very rich, the food is also delicious and the people are friendly and open. That makes me love Vietnam even more.

It must also be said that I did not face any difficulties while working in Vietnam. The 31st SEA Games brought an extremely wonderful and unforgettable experience to me.”

The satisfaction of reporter Evan Andraws also lies with the professionalism of the 31st SEA Games organizers. The Indonesian reporter continued to express his views:

SEA Games 31 left many good feelings in the hearts of reporter Evan Andraws.

It’s really too harsh when there are people who criticize SEA Games 31. I still believe that the organizers did their best to make SEA Games 31 smooth until the end of the Closing Ceremony.

I believe with everything in hand, Vietnam is able to organize larger-scale sports tournaments than the SEA Games, such as ASIAD. Vietnamese people love sports and they deserve to experience even bigger sports tournaments.”
