Initial information said, around 5 am on the same day, Mr. Tu’s family was sleeping in the house when suddenly heard a loud explosion. Mr. Tu quickly went to check around the house and discovered that behind the house, right at the foot of the foundation was a sinkhole deep into the foundation and foundation.

Looking down, Mr. Tu panicked because the entire land below the foundation of the house was almost completely subsided, above the suspended house clinging to a little soil around.

Too scared, Mr. Tu hastily shouted for his family members to get out of the house, and at the same time, telegraphed the local authorities and neighbors to come help.

According to preliminary statistics, up to now, in Chau Hong commune, there have appeared 25 large and small sinkholes, some large holes with a depth of tens of meters. Besides, many wells of people’s houses have also dried up, houses and schools are cracked.

To clarify the cause of the sinkholes, Quy Hop District People’s Committee hired the North Central Geological Federation to survey and find solutions. The cause is still being clarified.
