These photos are not easy for everyone to see with their own eyes, because they were taken in the most dangerous and remote locations in the world.

Swiss adventurer and photographer Stefan Forster has made 60 trips to discover mysterious places over the past 10 years. He could walk for weeks just to take the perfect picture. And in his latest photo book, all the hard work has paid off.

His photo book amazes everyone with photographs taken in the most remote and challenging places on Earth.

In the preface to his book, Forster writes: “I kayaked along the west coast of Greenland, camped in the forests of Alaska and Canada, climbed craters without permission, frozen with frost for months just to see the aurora borealis. Our planet is full of wonderful things and the unparalleled beauty of nature.”

This is an extremely impressive image of the Fagradalsfjall volcano, Iceland. Forster says: “The true majesty and power of the Fagradalsfjall volcano can only be seen from the air. This panorama is stitched together from 22 individual photos so everyone can see how intense the eruption was. Huge amounts of lava flowed into the valleys for 16 hours.”

This stunning photo of the Northern Lights was taken in Narsarsuaq, Greenland. Forster recalls: “Really everything was perfect that night. The low tide opens a path to the iceberg, the surface of the sea is a transparent mirror amid the calm atmosphere. The aurora glows right behind the iceberg. It’s probably the most beautiful aurora I’ve seen in my life.”

In the book, Forster admits this is probably the rarest photograph he has ever taken in his life. He explained: “This is the heaviest downpour in decades at the Wolwedans dunes in Namib-Naukluft National Park. I had eight trips to Namibia before it rained.”

Pictured is the Studlagil gorge in northeastern Iceland. Forster explains: “The first images of the canyon formed by these basalt columns were posted online a few years ago. Photographers have been mesmerized by their surreal shapes. So it’s no surprise that a few years later, the Studlagil gorge has become one of the most photographed sites in northeastern Iceland.”

In this image, the rays of the sun shine down on the Grand Canyon. Forster revealed: “This picture was taken in the North Rim, few guests travel than in the Grand Canyon. The sunbeams breaking through the clouds is one of the most beautiful of all atmospheric images.”

In the book, Forster explains how he took this photo in Alaska. He had a memorable adventure of his life in this land. “I and a famous Swiss bear expert – Remo Sommerhalder went out with grizzly bears in Katmai National Park for 10 days. Because we were the first photographers to fly to these isolated coves, after the harsh winter, we had the opportunity to capture this rare moment of the bears.”
