At the time of inspection, Matxi Corp Co., Ltd., branch of MEDINO International Co., Ltd. committed that the batch of Max Health Go Coffee coffee products had production date and expiry date: NSX: January 10, 2022, HSD: January 10, 2024 is the last batch of products that the branch of MEDINO International Co., Ltd has produced for Matxi Corp Co., Ltd as of May 16, 2022.

Hoang Gia coffee products are self-proclaimed and manufactured by Lasva Cosmetics Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd (new name is Thinh Viet Pharma Pharmaceutical Research and Development Company Limited). The unit responsible for and distributing products is Hoang Gia Phat Cosmetics Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company.

The Food Safety Authority has asked 2 companies to recall products that do not ensure food safety for Hoang Gia coffee supplements.

Previously, on March 31, TS.BS Nguyen Trung Nguyen – Director of the Poison Control Center, Bach Mai Hospital – said that the Center had just treated a female patient who entered the emergency room in a coma and convulsion after 4 days drinking Royal Coffee to lose weight.

Samples of products used by patients (products labeled “Royal Cafe” – PV) were then transferred by the Center to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for testing. The results showed that in the weight loss coffee that the patient used contained the banned substance Sibutramine.

Sibutramine is a new drug, not allowed to be used in functional food products. Sibutramine has many toxicity and side effects, the risk of cardiovascular complications, especially stroke and myocardial infarction. As a result, the US and Europe have stopped using this substance since 2010.

In 2011, the Drug Administration (Ministry of Health) suspended circulation and recalled drugs containing the active ingredient sibutramine due to unwanted effects. The Bureau has also withdrawn the registration numbers of all drugs containing the active ingredient Sibutramine.
