Beijing eases COVID-19 restrictions in some areas from May 29

Job easing restrictions on COVID-19 will allow people in these areas to return to normal life.

The city’s Fangshan and Shunyi districts Beijing can switch from working from home mode to normal working mode, Beijing officials told a news conference.

Public transport including buses, taxis and subways will reopen in three districts, while shopping malls will be allowed to reopen in some areas.

However, China’s capital city will suspend operations for businesses including tutoring, internet cafes and karaoke bars.

Officials said that Beijing reported 1,716 cases of COVID-19 between April 22 and the afternoon of May 28.
