Malaysia U23 closes the list of U23 Vietnam matches in U23 Asia

Brad Maloney, head coach Malaysia U23put their faith in the squad that just competed at the 31st SEA Games when participating in the U23 Asian Finals in Uzbekistan, from June 1-19

The Australian military leader did not make any changes to the list to attend the 31st SEA Games, the tournament where they lost to U23 Indonesia in the bronze match.

Mr. Maloney only decided to add 3 more players compared to the Southeast Asian Games.

Additional members include Muhammad Rahadiazli Rahalim, Muhamad Umar Hakeem Suhar Rezwan and Muhammad Shafi Azswad Sapari.

These players were previously on the list to prepare for SEA Games 31.

Initially, coach Maloney’s plan was to strengthen Nooa Laine, a player with dual Malaysian and Dutch citizenship. However, his passport and some of his documents were too slow.

In the last 31 SEA Games, U23 Malaysia did not lose in 90 minutes all the matches they attended.

Malaysia U23’s defeat against the champion U23 Vietnam happened in extra time in the semi-final, with a header from Tien Linh after a classy free kick taken by Hung Dung.

At U23 Asia 2022, “Golden Tiger” meets two opponents who have just faced off at SEA Games 31, U23 Thailand (June 5) and U23 Vietnam (June 8).

Previously, on June 2, coach Maloney’s army had a debut match against South Korea U23, the champion of the tournament.
