One-year-old girl ‘beaten to death’ by babysitter

On May 28, a source from Binh Tan District Police said that it had coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Police to summon a 21-year-old babysitter to clarify the cause of the victim’s death. She is said to have admitted to hitting the victim earlier.

Yesterday afternoon, the police received a report from the hospital about the girl’s death before being taken to the emergency room. Doctors discovered that the baby had many bruises, suspected of being beaten. Binh Tan district police examined the scene and the body, the results showed that the baby had multiple abdominal injuries, suspected of being caused by external forces.

The victim’s mother said that the same morning, she sent her child to the babysitter as usual. A few hours later, this woman called, saying that the baby had a cough, was vomiting milk and was turning pale. She rushed to the babysitter to take her child to the emergency room but could not make it in time.

According to the investigative agency, the girl admitted that she was angry because the baby was spitting milk, so she hit her in the stomach. After a while, the baby fainted, pale, scared to call the victim’s mother.
