Parents of an international school in Ho Chi Minh City accuse their children of being beaten by classmates

Talking to Zing, Mrs. THT, a parent with a child studying at the International School of Ho Chi Minh City (ISHCMC-AA) in An Phu, Thu Duc City, said that according to her children, last week, students at ISHCMC- AA participates in a picnic at Ho Tram.

When eating, her son holds the chair for you to go get food. An 8th grader wants to take that seat. I replied that the chair is already occupied. The other girl spoke harshly, but her son THT did not respond. I thought it stopped.

But on May 26, according to this parent, her child was bullied by a student at the same school to hit, punched in the chest on campus. According to parents, the teacher saw it but did not intervene.

“After that, the other child also wanted to drag my son outside to beat him again. Outside, near the school, many male students are waiting for my son with weapons to ‘kill’ him.“, Mrs. THT said.

This parent added that some other students were disgruntled and wanted to protect her child, so the other female student beat her. All 4 children are currently traumatized, crying a lot, panicking, chest tightness, many scratches and bruises.

Ms. THT said at first, she did not know the incident. When she picked me up, seeing that my eyes were swollen, she asked me but I didn’t say. When the parents of other students came to school, the school did not accept them, so they encouraged her children to call her to work.

“Because I was so scared, more than an hour later, I spoke up”Ms. THT said. Then she went to school.

At that time, the parents of pupil was beaten, was invited out by the school, refused to work. Seeing her upset, the school allowed her to enter. Ms. T. said she just wanted to be able to sit down and talk in the spirit of reconciliation.

According to Ms. THT, the school replied to her that it would give the phone number of the other parent so that the two parties could solve it by themselves with the reason that “the incident happened outside the school”. After a while, the school security took the other two students out of the building, these two showed a defiant attitude.

On the evening of May 26, she sent her son to the doctor. According to the medical examination results provided by Ms. THT, her daughter had a wound on her hand, had difficulty breathing, and a straight chest X-ray showed nothing abnormal.

Ms. THT said that in the incident, the school respected and listened to parents, no one took responsibility for protecting their children.

“In addition, male students still made threatening phone calls and text messages. I was really confused and scared for my son, so I decided to let him drop out of school from today.” Ms. THT added.

Talking to Zing, Mr. Trinh Duy Trong, Head of the Department of Politics and Thought, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, said with the incident as Parents Reflecting, the view of the department is that the school should be responsible for solving, including meeting with parents, ensuring the safety of students, doing ideological work for them to stabilize, and avoid affecting their studies.

Mr. Trong further informed that the department will work with the education department to grasp the incident for guidance, and at the same time coordinate with the local police (if relevant) to ensure the safety and psychology of students.
