“At that time, because I hadn’t thought of becoming a mother, I was informed by the doctor that I froze, feeling like I was floating somewhere. It took about 5 minutes to fully recover. On the way home from the antenatal care clinic, I calmed down and thought to myself: “Ah, I’m going to be a mother soon”.

When my boyfriend heard the news, he was confused at first, then he was happy. The two of them worked out a plan for the next time because at that time neither he nor I were ready for being a father or mother. At that time, both of their careers were not stable, I worked as a worker and my boyfriend both went to school and worked. When I was pregnant, I reserved my studies to go to work, so I could take care of both mother and child.”Ms. Van recalled.

With poor health, a small person weighing only 36kg, 1m55 tall, low blood pressure, anemia, narrow pelvis, so the doctor advised Van to have a caesarean section. After 9 months and 10 days of hard work, holding her baby in her arms, the young mother overflowed with a feeling of happiness.

Although he did not return in time to go with his girlfriend to experience the moment of labor, but a week later, the baby’s father was present in Vietnam to take care of mother and child. That made her very happy and very emotional.

Two years later, she continued to welcome a second daughter. Having to take care of two children with that woman alone is not easy. By 2018, the children were old enough to go to kindergarten, so Ms. Van sent her two children to school to interact with many friends. It was a little less difficult, but that was also the time when she had to face great events in her life.

“The children went to school, I was alone at home, I was sad to go in and out. I had sold sugarcane juice before, so I had the idea to sell it again. I stayed home for a long time, so it was time to earn my own money. , although not much, but I feel very happy and want to maintain that job.

I still vividly remember around 8-9am on March 29, 2018, while working, I got my left hand stuck in the juicer of the sugarcane juice machine. Supported by neighbors to take them to the hospital, when they woke up, their brothers announced: “The doctor cut off 3 of my fingers”.

Her boyfriend returned to Vietnam to help take care of her children during the time when Ms. Van had an accident.

The accident caused her to lose 3 fingers.

At that time, I was like a person losing my soul, half awake, half asleep, looking at my bandaged hands, I was shocked and shed tears because it happened so suddenly. In the morning, he was still selling goods, but by evening, 3 fingers had already been cut off.

I called my boyfriend and said: “Brother, you come back with me. You help me take care of the baby, but now I’m in so much pain, I can’t do anything anymore, I can’t even eat.” He understood, 3 days later he was in Vietnam. In the same year, I had to face another shock that my beloved father passed away forever due to a stroke.” Van does not stop crying when talking about sad stories.

In September 2018, Ms. Van went to the US and officially married her husband in November 2018. The whole family currently lives in Houston, Texas. When she first came to the country of chess, Ms. Van felt that everything was too strange, but fortunately her husband supported her a lot. Where she lives, there are many Vietnamese people, there are Asian markets. Sometimes, she takes her children to the market to play to relieve their sadness.
