Briand affirmed that the world still has a chance to prevent the disease from spreading further, and urged people not to worry because the current spreading rate is much slower than other viruses, such as Corona virus.

Meanwhile, according to Dr. Rosamund Lewis, an expert in charge of smallpox diseases in the WHO’s emergency program, there is no need for large-scale vaccination yet, but it is necessary to focus the vaccine on those who have been in close contact with the cases. .

Ms. Lewis said that investigating cases, tracing and isolating at home are currently the best measures.

Earlier, the European Union (EU) decided to buy together vaccines and antiviral drugs against monkeypox, which is spreading in many European countries.
