According to Hazelett, the woman who fired back does not work in law enforcement and has not been identified.

“She’s just a citizen carrying a lawful weapon. Instead of running away from the threat, she chose to join and save lives,” Mr. Hazelett said.

The woman remained at the scene after the shooting and was cooperating with investigators. Police said they would not bring charges against her.

The suspect has been identified as Dennis Butler, 37, with multiple criminal records. He died at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.

A few days ago, an 18-year-old gunman also killed 21 people at an elementary school in the state of Texas – USA with an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle that he bought legally.
