North – South expressway progress is slower than planned

Reporting on the progress of the North-South Expressway project, Director of the Department of Construction Management and Traffic Quality (Ministry of Transport) Bui Quang Thai said: “The total construction volume so far has reached about 39.2. % of the contract value, about 1.03% behind the plan”.

For four North-South expressway projects that are required to be completed this year, Mr. Thai said, the average output reached 57.6% of the contract value, 2.7% behind the plan.

Specifically, the section Mai Son – National Highway 45 has an output of 62.3%, meeting the required schedule. The Ministry of Transport has requested the Thang Long Project Management Board to continue directing the construction contractor to stick to the approved plan.

The output of Cam Lo – La Son section reached 86%, about 1.3% behind the plan (including 7/10 delayed packages) mainly due to slow construction by contractors and heavy rain affecting concrete construction. plastic cardboard.

The Ministry of Transport has directed the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board to cut and transfer 1.49km (0.56km of the XL03 package and 0.93km of the XL5 package) and a number of bridgeheads and tunnels at the site. the XL3, XL5, XL7 contractors of some subcontractors for the main construction contractor.

Vinh Hao – Phan Thiet project’s output reached 38.4%, about 1.9% behind the committed plan (equivalent to a value of 113 billion VND, and 8 days of construction), due to difficulties in material resources. As for backfilling land, which was completely resolved on May 20, affecting the early rainy season, the contractor has not drastically focused on construction to make up for the progress.

Due to the slow progress of the contractor’s construction, the Ministry of Transport has directed the Project Management Board 7 to cut the volume of 16.5km and continue to cut the 4.5km volume of the contractor behind the schedule (under the bidding package). XL02).

At the same time, the Ministry of Transport requested Board 7 to closely inspect and supervise the adjustment progress of contractors, ensuring that by June 30, the output must reach 50.8% of the contract value; completing the crushed stone foundation layer in September 2022, the cement-reinforced crushed stone foundation layer in October 2022; completing the asphalt layer in November-December, 2022, completing the system of residential roads and traffic safety works by the end of this year.

The output of Phan Thiet – Dau Giay project is about 0.9% behind the plan (currently the progress is 45%) mainly due to the influence of the early rainy season, the amount of delay is not much.

The Ministry of Transport requested the Thang Long Project Management Board to drastically direct the contractor to strengthen the construction steps and take advantage of favorable weather to speed up the items of road foundation, pavement foundation, asphalt concrete… to complete The project is on schedule in 2022…

In order to urge the projects to be completed on schedule, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The resolutely: “For 4 projects including Mai Son – National Highway 45, Cam Lo – La Son, Vinh Hao -Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet – Dau Giay with a total length of 361km must definitely be completed this year.

“Investors and contractors must grasp the situation day by day, hour by hour, take advantage of favorable weather, work in 3 shifts, 4 shifts … to be able to bring these 4 highway projects to the finish line on time. Where there are difficulties, the project management board must work with the contractor to solve them,” Minister The resolutely directed.

Minister Nguyen Van The, also asked to pay special attention to the Dien Chau – Bai Vot project. The same PPP project, with the same completion time, but now this project has made a big change compared to 2 months ago, but only reached about 5% of the contract value.
